04.08.2008 Letters of credit
The letter of credit is an international payment instrument with which the exporter secures its demands, and the importer has a possibility for delayed payment and payment after reception of documents associated with the delivery of the contractual goods (by quality and quantity).
The documentary credit is the safest payment instrument that offers maximum protection for the purchaser and the vendor.
If you are a purchaser /importer by using the letter of credit your interests are secured because the payment of the contractual amount shall be effectuated after the purchaser /importer will prove with documents that the goods are sent in compliance with the agreed quantity, quality and period.
If you are a purchaser /exporter the use of the documentary letter of credit provides safe collection of payment for your demands on condition you deliver the goods and present documents in front of the bank according to the conditions of the letter of credit. |
